Empire Airlines has been a FedEx Feeder operator since 1988 and has been operating `Ohana by Hawaiian since its inception in 2013. As a FedEx Feeder operator, we provide flight and maintenance services throughout the Western United States. Our fleet consists of ATR 42, ATR 72, and Cessna Caravan 208 aircraft throughout our 18 Domiciles servicing over 40 cities. Our `Ohana operation provides inner island passenger service and cargo service in Hawaii; with flights to Oahu, Lanai, Molokai, and Kapalua in West Maui. Our passenger fleet consists of ATR 42-500 and our cargo fleet consists of ATR 72-500 aircraft.

Job Summary:
The 121 Check Airman / Simulator and Ground School Instructor will administer the company’s FAA approved flight training program in the classroom, simulator, flight training device and aircraft for ATR Pilots.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs as ATR 42/72 classroom and simulator instructor in all phases of training including initial, upgrade, recurrent and requalification training.
• Enable the efficient delivery of training by ensuring that an all administrative duties relating to training are arranged and the briefing room and simulator are prepared in readiness for the training session.
• Conduct thorough briefings prior to each training session to provide the training expectations, as well as debriefings and critiques at the end of each training session, to ensure that the crewmember is aware of their performance. Provide a brief outline of the training events for future sessions.
• Evaluate and document the crewmember' knowledge, performance and progress in the training sessions in the relevant records and reports.
• Analyze and correct deficiencies in crewmembers' knowledge and performance.
• Report any crewmember training problems or conflicts to the Flight Training Manager.
• Coordinate and schedule individual training if required.
• Maintain line status qualified; maintain familiarity and knowledge of new concepts and innovations, changes in regulations, procedures and improvements concerning the safe operations of all Company aircraft; maintain full knowledge of all applicable policies, procedures, manuals, handbooks and protocol.
• Serve as positive role model for ethical behavior and promote an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles that are consistent with these principles; provide guidance, direction, management and support in a secure and dignified work environment; serve as a positive, constructive, communicative leader for the Company and its customers and policies for the industry and its participants; promote and support the mission of Empire Airlines.
• May be required to become qualified to act as a simulator and/or aircraft check airman.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Experienced 121 PIC with 2 to 4 years previous experience as instructor, check airman or FAA examiner in aircraft and/or advanced simulators. Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience demonstrating the ability to prepare a lesson plan, interpret and present technical material, and independently teach an airplane model. Requires 3000 hours PIC, 500 hours large turbo prop or Jet, 500 hours instruction experience, simulator instruction experience preferred. Must also hold an FAA first-class medical and have a current US passport. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Must adhere to the Company’s FAA/DOT required Drug and Alcohol Program.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office environment, full motion simulator, outdoors and in an aircraft. Will be exposed to inclement weather Requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, and stooping for extended periods of time. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity, speaking, seeing, and hearing to conduct business. Work at different locations as required.
