I interviewed at JFK Airport on August 24th, 2006. When I arrived they took a polaroid photo and then I meet with Joan Kraft(HR). She went over my application and asked me some Q's: Why did you become a pilot? What makes North American different from other airlines? What if your captain showed up drunk? You have a flight at 7am and you hear your crew in the room above at 2am having a party. What would you do? If you get recalled from furlough will you return?
Then I was finger printed, and taken down the hall to meet the chief Pilot and manager of flight. Two-pilot panel interview. Very relaxed, just a "get to know you" session. Q's: Why work here? How did you handle an argument with a crew member? When did you go out of the way for the company? Some questions about previous company? No technical questions. Then I met with the V. P. of Flight Operations. Again very relaxed, another "get to know you". I got the felling that they like "age and experience" vs. "youth and enthusiasm". That's it.
Internal recs highly valued! They like pilots with heavy-jet, international experience. Good luck!
