Does anybody know how the airlines are looking at military T-6 Instructor Time? The T-6 has replaced the old T-37 as the primary trainer for the Air Force. It is a single engine turbo-prop instead of a multi-engine jet like the Tweet. Do the airlines frown on it now since it is a single-engine turbo prop. I'm still getting AETC Instructor time in a high-performance aircraft...I view it essentially the exact same as the Tweet. If anybody knows, I'd sure appreciate the help. Thanks.

I see that you have C-5 time so I'm assuming that you have a multiengine rating. If that is the case, T-6 time is GRAVY flight time. Pad the books with your mighty Crayola because you are building good flight hours. Not all military time is Good Flight time. AV-8B pilots who were trained initially in the T-45 are running into the problem of no multi engine time. They have to work to get there multi as well as there ATP to be able to apply for the airlines. Semper Fly, Frumby

I agree with Frumby. I've flown T-34C's and P-3's. Once you get the minimum multi-time it's all bonus time. Equally important as your time are your qualifications. Standardization pilot, check pilot, stage leader, department head, all that goes a long way as well. I'm 4 for 4 with the majors so I don't think flying single engine turbine hurt a bit.
