Im planning to be an airline pilot in the future, im currently 15, and i will start my PPL training soon, i just want to know will it be hard for me to find a job as a pilot since my religion is muslim, and i wasnt born in United States, the reason im asking this is because someone i know told me that airlines will have complete background check on me before they accept me, and they probably will not accept anyone who is muslim or someone who wasnt born in United States. Its now harder after what happened in 9/11, is it true? when my friend told me that, i was really upset. Thanks in advance

EDIT: but i currently live in United States

I sure hope not. I don't think religion is part of a background check. as long as you remain an upstanding citizen and fly airplanes right side up, you should be fine. good luck!

It is illegal to not offer someone a job based on religion or ethnicity. They will do a full background check but as long as you haven't done anything illegal you will be fine. Even though I was born in the United States and am not Muslim, my last name is quite quite Arabic sounding smile.gif so I understand your apprehension. Keep the dream alive and don't quite because of fear that you won't be accepted. The people who are running these companies and that will be making these job decisions have a lot at stake and will not want to blow their careers because of a stupid prejudice.
