I am new to this, so please bear with me if the answer to my query is obvious : I have not been able to find a written reference so far.

Question : Are pure part 91 operations subject to flight &/or duty time limitations?

I have a lead on a possible seat, but in my discussions with the principals was told that the boss (first time owner of a jet0 wants to travel half-way around the globe semi regularly. This would entail doing 2 7-hour sectors with just 2 pilots, and then a third pilot (contract0 joining the aircraft at the second fuel stop (i.e. after 14 hours flight time) and flying the third sector (another 7 hours) with the 2 full time pilots taking turns in the right seat for this final leg.

Can this be legal/

The boss is adamant that he will only employ 2 pilots, and it seems like a reasonably good opportrunity, apart from these globe-circling trips about every 8 weeks or so.

Any thoughts or opinions?

Other than flight instruction, I've seen no limit on flight time per day when operating Part 91.

Ya know i had this issue too when i worked a Part 91 air tour job over a summer. There's nothing specific in the regs about flight and duty, but we used the basis of part 135. We could fly over 8 as long as we had more rest time, because there's not much worse out there then flying tired and beat.

So tell him yea, you'll fly that much, as long as you get 10 hrs or 12 hrs of rest after.

I still don't think this is safe : 21 hours flying/24 hours duty. Even 24 hours off before & after does not make it safe.

Looks like it is legal though.
