Dear Everyone,
Hello, I am a 28 years old Japanese pilot.
I would like to hear any opinions to advance my pilot career from pilots from a variety kinds of Aviation fields.
I have been aiming to become a B747 captain, and operate international flight since I was a small kid.
I obtained FAA ATP in last June, and I have about 2570 hours total flight time and 520 hours in multi-engine, but I don't have any type ratings.
I have 2 hours in B747-400 and approximately 10 hours in full motion simulator when I was interning at major airline in the US.
Most of my flight time is as a flight instructor, and corporate flight with piston twin.
Since I obtained ATP, I contacted with many airlines and aviation companies for pilot opportunity, but I don't have any good answer from them.
I visited many pilot career web sites, but all job opportunity is for experieced pilots, so as other pilot job web sites.
Since I am Japanese citizen and I don't have Green Card, I can't work in the US, and I can't fly in Japan because FAA pilot certificate is not vsalid in Japan.
Airlines are looking for experienced pilots for immideate work forces, and flight schools are not hiring instructors due to down economy or hiring low time pilots to save operating costs.
I have no idea what should I do to advance my pilot career, but I would like to do anything to achieve my goal.
Which market have my career possibility and which market should I focus on?
If adding some qualifications will make me more competitive in pilot job market, what are they? Where can I take those trainings?
Is there any airlines who are willing to accept pilots who have type rating but no turbine time?
Please give me some frank opinion and advice to make my dream come true.
Best Reagrds,

Tommy,
I understand your frustrations you are caught in the middle of a bad economy. You have plenty of experience for the US regional airlines but you lack the ability to work in the States. I would focus on finding out how you can get a Green Card or a Visa to work in the US. You may also want to try Canada. Once you have more time in a regional under your belt you can then get hired by a major and fly your B747. The corporate route could help you build up time as well but you generally build up time slower and again you lack the ability to work in the US legally. Since you can't convert you FAA ATP to Japan why not sit down and take the Japanese ATP and try and find work with you current hours?

Thank you very much for your suggestions.
I think I'm still on the right track, but need extra actions to break this situation.
I talked with JCAB(kind of FAA in Japan), and they said converting FAA ATP to Japan may possible if I am typed and have several hours in type.
They also told me that I have to have PVT first with just take written exam, but I have to do COM and IFR all over again!!
It seems it cost $100K, canyou believe it!!!!
I won't give up my career, but not in Japan.
Again, thank you so much for your advice!
