I am facing the same situation. I have looked in to quite a few schools lately. I just graduated from college and want to pursue my dream of aviation. I have a PVT license but no other ratings. I have looked fairly close at Westwind, FlightSafety, Regional Airline Academy, and Phoenix East. I've found that Phoenix East is the most price reasonable for the training given and I plan on starting there within the next month. I do have a great deal of hesitation. I will be paying for the school with an alternative loan and I am very concerned that I might not have a job after I achieve 1000hrs of flight time. The school tells me that the program will take me 6-10 months and after I finish their program they will hire me as an instructor and that should take me approximately 10-12 months to build up to the 1000hr mark and I should then be hired by a regional airline. Regional tells me they can get me a job in as little as 14 months, although it is roughly another 20,000 not including living expenses. Can anyone elaborate on the school or the hiring situation. What is my outlook?
Please help me out on this one, if nothing else just one word.
Thanks
